Welcome to Haby SAKHO : a new talent contributing to international mobility at CESI

In this page:

Under the supervision of Karine GOURLET, Head of International Mobility, Haby joined CESI in February as an International Enrollment Officer within the International Development Department. In particular, Haby will be responsible for welcoming international students and helping them prepare for their arrival at CESI, in accordance with the recommendations of the « Bienvenue en France » label.

Her career path

I began my academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Foreign Languages (English, Spanish), followed by a Master’s in European Project Management. After completing my studies, I joined the Erasmus+ agency in Paris as an administrative assistant. In this role, I assisted project managers in evaluating initiatives developed by organizations, such as local missions. I also participated in monitoring European volunteer services, which are a key aspect of the agency’s mission.

After this experience, I joined Arts et Métiers ParisTech, where I continued to work on Erasmus projects. As an Erasmus Administrative Manager, my role was to support students in their European mobility projects while managing the scholarships associated with these mobilities.

Motivations for joining CESI

As Head of International Relations at CESI, what are your main responsibilities?

What attracted me to the position at CESI was primarily the opportunity to continue working in the field of international relations. The focus on European projects, especially Erasmus, played a decisive role in my decision. Moreover, since the position is within an engineering school, a field I was already somewhat familiar with, I saw this opportunity as an excellent continuation of my career. The prospect of playing an active role in developing international relations within the school was also very motivating, as it aligns with my professional aspirations. In addition, my role at CESI will also be to support international students prior to their arrival in order to make their integration as smooth as possible, in accordance with the criteria of the « Bienvenue en France » label.

First missions at CESI

Since my arrival, I’ve mainly focused on the management of Erasmus data, which has allowed me to become more familiar with internal processes. I also had the opportunity to participate in the selection jury for students who will be going abroad next year, which was a new experience for me. It was a rewarding opportunity to learn about the selection process and interact with students in this context.

Additionally, I’ve started communicating with our foreign partners, which is always very stimulating. We are currently preparing for student mobility for the upcoming semester, and I’ve had discussions with partners from a variety of countries, including Canada, South Korea, and Belgium.

In summary, these initial tasks are not only highly motivating but also offer me the opportunity to further develop my skills while continuing to work in a field I am truly passionate about: international relations and European mobility.
